I take back everything I wrote about there not being an EPS Bleeder 2.x. This is it. Apparently, the other solutions for getting pre-bled files for electronic pre-press files are not working out all the time. So I figured I might as well get this thing up to par. It╒s now a fat binary: native for 68K processors and PowerPC processors. It also has the option to keep the EPS picture preview, but only for a registered version (see below).

INTRO
This program is a drop-and-drag utility written for System 7. I do not expect it to work under earlier system releases. Users who wish to bleed EPS files made on a PC need to read the PROGRAM SPECIFICS section below.
SHAREWARE FEE
This program is SHAREWARE (meaning that you really should pay me if it benefits you) and has a usage fee of $25. If you find this software useful in your work or personal environment, and you have any integrity (which I╒m sure you do), you will happily send $25 to me because of the immense time it has saved you (try hacking EPS code by hand...yuk!). I am also going to enact a multiple-copy discount, where you will save a bit on each extra copy you register. See the chart below for details.
LIMITATIONS
If you are running an unregistered version (trust me╔you╒ll know), there are a couple of things that are disabled until you register:
1. 50 file limit╔you will only be able to bleed 50 EPS files with this application before it expires. Feeding it a valid registration code (available from me when you register your copy) is all it takes to bring it back to life.
2. The option to retain EPS picture previews is disabled.
REMEMBER: You will only be able to bleed 50 EPS files if you don╒t register.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
I am going to go out on a limb here because people have raised this issue and I feel it is a good time to respond. If you would like me to send you each new version of EPS Bleeder as it is updated, send a shareware fee + subscription fee of $20. This will put you on my eternal mailing list for Bleeder updates. Also, for those who are registering multiple copies of EPS Bleeder, just send *one* subscription fee instead of one fee for each copy that you╒re registering. Confusing? See the Ordering chart below.

All versions of EPS Bleeder may be distributed as long as this READ ME file tags along for the ride and as long as no fee is received by anyone other than me for its distribution. If you intend to include it is as part of a ╥collection of shareware or freeware╙ you must notify me in writing first to get approval.
This software may not be sold to any company╒s customers or bundled with any company╒s software unless written permission is secured from me first. Whew...how╒s that for red tape?
Oh yeah, I reserve all rights for this program. I do not make any claims to the suitability of this software to perform any action on any file other than those described in this READ ME file. through PrePrint, PressWise or TrapWise, but still keep your bleeds, then this is your program. EPS Bleeder examines the source EPS file or files, determines whether or not it can enlarge the bleed area (if it is a recognized EPS format), and writes a new document in place of the old with the enlarged bleed area.
HOW TO USE
EPS Bleeder is a drag-and-drop-ready application. You select one or more EPS files, or one or more folders or disks containing EPS files and drag the item or items onto the EPS Bleeder application. EPS Bleeder will launch and process any EPS files that match its predefined list of compatible formats.
If you run the application directly, you have the option of changing the preferences in the Edit menu. If you have a registered copy of EPS Bleeder (see order form above), then you will have the option of retaining the EPS picture preview with the bled version of the EPS file. This is very useful when you need to import a bled page back into a page layout program, yet still need to see the picture preview for placement.
IMPORTANT: If you do have a registered version of EPS Bleeder and you retain the EPS picture preview, the picture preview does not include the newly bled areas. There is no easy way around the issue╔just remember that the picture preview you see is what the page looks like up to the original bounding rectangle (not including your new bleed). This can actually be helpful in some ways.
SHORTCUT
If you hold down the option key (and keep it held down) while you drop items on the EPS Bleeder icon, a preferences window will come up all by itself (at which point you can let go of the option key). This is useful if you just want to make a last-minute check of the settings or if you want to alter the settings for a particular file or set of files. The changes you make will be saved back to the application as usual.
PROGRAM SPECIFICS
PCs╤If you are using a PC, *DO NOT* save a preview in your EPS files when they are to be processed by EPS Bleeder. The embedded TIFF preview confuses EPS Bleeder╒s recognition circuitry. Otherwise, all works well with PC-created EPS files.
QuarkXPress and FreeHand╤Original bounding box remains intact. EPS Bleeder finds the master clipping rectangle in the EPS code and modifies it according to the bleeds set in the configuration dialog box.
Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop╤Original bounding box is altered to allow items to bleed when a positive bleed value is set in the configuration dialog box. As such, the actual page size is reduced. This is opposite to the method used for QuarkXPress and Freehand bleeds where the page size remains the same and items extending from the page are allowed to bleed.
REVISION HISTORY
EPS Bleeder 2.0.5 Ñ Added version number to registration print out. Added phone number entry for registration print out. All this just so I know which version you have when you register and how to call you when I╒m bored.
EPS Bleeder 2.0.4 Ñ Enabled to ╥Stop╙ button in the status dialog box to abort the current file, not just the remaining files. Fixed cosmetic bug where progress bar wouldn╒t update correctly for files larger than about nine or ten megabytes. This version was not released to the public.
EPS Bleeder 2.0.3 Ñ Minor cosmetic fixes. Changed address for registration. Increased unregistered file limit from 40 to 50.
EPS Bleeder 2.0.2 Ñ Fixed a bug in the bleed adjustment code. Fixed a bug in the Apple Events Open Doc handling mechanism to avoid receiving an OpenDoc request while processing existing files. Minor interface adjustments.

EPS Bleeder 1.1 Ñ The status dialog box is repositioned to the main screen (the one with the menu bar) if less than 36 pixels of all edges are visible (if someone with a big monitor pulled it way too far off the edge for your little monitor). The zeroes to the right of the decimal place of each converted number have been removed to avoid problems with QuarkXPress 3.1 EPS files. A small cosmetic fix was performed to the left edge of the progress thermometer to avoid erasing that edge in between processing files.
